The Megan Millions lottery has yet failed to get in touch with the big winner that has a $250.000 prize to claim. Mathematical calculations state that there are 1 in 3.9 million chances for an individual to predict all five wining numbers
The lucky winner has actually done it on 27 July 2010. The same one has failed to claim the prize to this very day. Can you believe it? Time is slowly but surely running out for the lucky winner, and after 27th July his luck might take a turn for the worse. The ticket was bought from a news stand located at E.Main Street in Somerville. Since than almost an entire year has passed, yet the prize remains unclaimed. According to the New Jersey law, any winner has a one year time period to claim the prize.
Executive Director Carole Hedinger of the New Jersey Lottery says that the winning ticket needs to be signed at the back. With the ticket in hand, the winner can head to the nearest lottery retailer or head directly to the lottery headquarters to file a claim for the prize. On July 27, 2010 the numbers drawn were: 2, 7, 10, 16, 29. The Mega Ball number was 8. Fifteen tickets of $250.000 each were won, and three of them landed in New Jersey. What are the odds of that? Silvia Gaillard and Pamela Kopp were the other two lucky winners, that managed to get the five winning numbers right. The Mega Ball number has evaded everybody in this round.
In the last five years, no less than $38.2 million were not claimed by the lucky (or not so lucky) winners. Since the law states clearly that after one year, the winner ticket is nullified, the mystery winner would do better to reveal himself of herself. If not, the money will be donated to State institutions and education.
