Biodiesel Plant
Dubai’s interest in producing biodiesel in plants that use recycled vegetable oil has helped the emirate become the first Middle East owner of such a facility.
The Government of Dubai has made possible a partnership between Neutral Fuels (a local firm) and McDonald’s UAE. The partnership resulted in the production of a biodiesel with the help of an environmentally friendly technique that is based on the use of vegetable oil. This is an example of the efforts that the Dubai government has made with the purpose of encouraging local firms to diversify their activity and improve the business image of Dubai. A commendable action, isn’t it?
The partnership is a plus for both companies because McDonald’s has 20,000 liters of vegetable oil to dispose off after using it in the 90 outlets it runs in the UAE. This first Middle East biodiesel factory is expected to produce over a million liters of biodiesel each year. The long-term contract between the two companies stipulates that while MacDonald’s will supply the raw material, the biodiesel produced will be used by MacDonald’s UAE logistics fleet. The cost reduction will become significant only as the price of diesel increases, but the main goal of the partnership is, for now, to minimize the pollution level. It’s all about environmental initiatives. It’s worth investing money in such projects, isn’t it?

The biodiesel they are planning to produce is an environmentally-friendly energy source that along with other alternative sources of energy is meant to keep clean the conscience of corporations that use tons of fuel each month and to slow down global warming.
Biodiesel can be used on vehicles without the need of alterations. The cars will run as smooth.
