After introducing the cheapest car Tata Nano, the company has announced another product, the Tata Nano houses. Tata as claimed that the houses are the cheapest known as the Nano flatpack house.
Tata is now aiming to claim the title of the cheapest house in the market. The Nano house will be offered with pre-fabricated material, which will include windows and doors for a house which will have an area of 20 sq meters.
The materials will consist of coconut or jute, which will be completing the interiors of the layout. Currently, the proposed price of the existing kit is said to be priced around $US 700.
Moreover, Tata is also developing a larger home of 30 sq meters with some optional extras. The larger home will have a solar energy system as well as a front verandah. Sumitesh Das, the head of the house project has said that they have already prepared two to three designs which are based on the discussion with the users and are also gathering more information. Das added that they are hopeful to roll out the houses officially in the next six to eight months.
