Texas Rangers have extended their impressive streak to 11 wins when the West leaders grabbed a 3-1 win from Seattle Mariners yesterday at the Safeco Field where the visitors scored their only points in a row and within one inning.
The leaders took the first lead early in the second term through Moreland who fired a 429 foot homerun, being followed by Murphy and Napoli who scored the last points for the away side. Fortunately, the hosts could only score a consolation point late in the eighth round through Bard who scored the only point from Ja Wilson’s single to center.
Said Moreland of Rangers’ remarkable 11-win run: “This whole streak we’re on right now is really because of what they have done. They’ve been great. When you are pitching like that it’s fun to go out and play behind those guys and be a part of it.” Team’s manager Ron Washington also looked pleased with his side’s great showing: “We were playing well and we expected ourselves to come out and play well. The first day of workouts (post break) showed they were ready.”

The second inning went scoreless for both sides, while the third one highlighted the Nationals powering through to a six-point run.
Bernadina tripled to center, allowing Gorzelanny cut the deficit to one point. Bernadina then evened the situation also thanks to a throwing error committed by baseman Uggla. Bernadina then took advantage of Espinosa’s tripling, making it 5-2, lead which the same Espinosa extended to 6-2 right afterwards. But that could only trigger Braves’ midway rally.
