Tevez cites family reasons for his departure

Carlos Tevez plans to depart from Manchester City and go back at home in Argentina as the 27-year-old has invoked family reasons for his desire to depart. The Argentine striker, who has become a key piece in Roberto Mancini’s side since his first day, doesn’t want to be part of Italian’s future plans, being likely to join his family this summer.

Tevez has signed a five-year deal with the Eastlands side back in 2009 after splitting with the local rivals United, and has now plenty of chances to leave England and go back home. The Argentine finished the term as top scorer in Premier League, scoring 20 goals for the Blues, the same as United’s Berbatov. He is also the second best assister after David Siva, with six deliveries.

Club’s chairman has been informed by forwarder’s desire who is keen to take care of his two daughters in Argentina rather than to stay one more season with the FA Cup winners. “I need my children to be happy because my life is about them now. I need to be in a place where they can adapt… It is with great regret that I have to inform Manchester City of my wish to leave the club. I hope that the people understand the difficult circumstances in regards to my family,” said the player.

Tevez, who has scored 43 goals and gathered 65 selections with the Eastlands, is likely to make the return to the Argentinean league after two good seasons at City and five years spent in Premier League. His departure is to put Roberto Mancini in difficulty as the Italian is now forced to focus on a forwarder transfer, as well. Manchester have singed Arsenal’s defender Gael Clichy earlier this week, who was given a four-year deal against a reported seven million pounds fee, but will have to switch his focus on strikers now.

Arsenal’s Samir Nasri is also likely to become a City player this summer, according to the English reports which see the French playmaker join Clichy at his new side, though neither of the two English clubs have confirmed the rumors.
