Kansas City have started to build streak when they managed to keep the sheet clean throughout the entire meeting on Friday night at the Progressive Field where they crashed Cleveland 12-0.
Butler, who fired a 405 foot homerun, and Cabrera brought a two-point early lead for Royals as the promising start helped them to stay in touch with the win until the end. Gordon extended the lead to three points in the second term after hitting a 376 foot homerun as things started to look clear as possible for both sides.
The third term went scoreless for both sides, while the fourth one saw Cabrera fire a 385 foot homerun, and Pena, Getz and Gordon put their side seven points ahead of the losing pace and sleeping Indians who were unable to cut any deficit against the great shaped unstoppable Kansas. Thus, the fifth round brought the away side another point after Escobar singled to center for Francoeur’s eighth point.
The sixth inning also went clean for the two sides, but Royals were heading towards a clear victory on Progressive Field. Gordon then doubled to center, allowing Moustakas and Escobar score their first points for a much more comprehensive lead of ten points. Finally, the eighth term highlighted Butler firing a 359 foot homerun and the same Francoeur closing the win with a 12th point, following Pena’s center doubling.
Said Butler: “That’s not professional. I understand the game. You don’t go above the shoulders. I knew there was the possibility that I would get hit, but that’s too high. You’re never supposed to throw at somebody’s head.” Manager Ned Yost, too, looked more than pleased with his side’s showing, especially with Francis’s: “We’re swinging the bats pretty good right now. Francis threw the ball great.”
