The phone-hacking frenzy engulfs the entire planet and hits even some of the most terrorism-accustomed people of the world: the Taliban, who announced on Wednesday that the text message according to which their supreme leader Mullah Mohammed Omar had died was a fake.
They said that the phone of their major spokesman and the website of the organization were tempered with.
Earlier Wednesday text messages and emails supposedly generated from the Taliban accounts were announcing that the “leader of the faithful,” as mullah Omar is called, had passed away.
When contacted, the spokesman Zabiullah Mijahid denied that he was the sender of the text message, and maintained that the leader of the faithful was well, conducting his campaign in Afghanistan.

Soon after the messages were sent, the spokesman and the leaders of the Taliban sent messages and emails in which they accused the “cunning enemy” of deception, and announced that an investigation was launched by the IT department of the “Islamic Emirate.”
According to Reuters, the Taliban threatened to take revenge action against the phone companies.
The Taliban have kept a very serious activity on the internet, seeing it as a form of disseminating their message. Their activity compelled the Western forces to intensify their own activity on the internet.
The Taliban are intensifying their activity throughout Afghanistan especially since the American administration said that it would pull out of this country all its troops by 2014.
Recently, a series of assassinations were carried out against the people around the president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai. The half-brother of the president was killed, and then a presidential advisor.
It is considered that by this the Taliban are making a point by showing that the government is weak and they are coming back with a vengeance.
India, which is expected to play a serious role in the post-war Afghanistan, has determined that it is in her best interest to revise its stance on the Taliban, and deal with every government that will take charge of Afghanistan after the American troops leave.
