For anybody out there who owns a white (plastic) Macbook currently you’re going to feel wholly obsolete compared to the man with the Macbook Pro soon because Apple is going to kill them off, if Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is to be believed. Speaking with AppleInsider , Kuo said that supplies for the base model Macbook appear set to run out in August, leading many to speculate that Apple is going to stop selling them completely in favour for their current range of mid-high range specification Macbook’s (the Pro and Air).
Most notably, Apple is said to be releasing a newer version of its current Macbook Air any day now to coincide with their OS X Lion release, so if there is any new product on the market set to replace your white glossy friend, it’ll be this. Specification wise, the new Air should pack a Core i3 processor and 3GB of ram (the current generation packs a Core 2 Duo and 2GB of ram) and be, if possible, thinner.
