The Droid 3 may very well be our favorite smartphone of 2011 when it comes out (sorry, Samsung) but a tear down from iFixit has revealed a few surprises, both processor wise and RAM wise. As IT Pro Portal has reported, the tear down has revealed that the Droid 3 (or Milestone 3, depending on where you are) may feature the same base band chip as seen in the iPhone 4 and possibly iPhone 5, clocked at 1GHz with PowerVR SGX540 graphics which is plenty for all the mobile gamer’s out there. What we are most interested in as the title of this post applies though is the amount of RAM Motorola have decided to pack in to the Droid 3 which as iFixit have found is just 512MB, not the 1GB as featured in most smartphones currently.
Overall we’d say that the RAM issue shouldn’t be a problem as long as the software on the handset is optimized properly, and the Droid 3 certainly looks like a very tempting package indeed, featuring a 4 inch qHD display and 8 megapixel camera.
