Chicago started to build streak when they defeated Braves 6-5 on Sunday at the Turner Field. Despite a poor start which saw the visitors concede four points in a row, Cubs managed to overcome the deficit in the seventh term and thus grab a late victory.
Bourn gave his side the first lead in the first term, while Gonzalez doubled it in the second one. Prado then singled to left allowing Costanza to score even a third one for Atlanta in what seemed to be an easy meeting for the hosts. The third term went scoreless for both sides, but the game was far from being over. Costanza made it 4-0 in the next round after Bourn singled to center, but that could only arouse Cubs’ midway rally.
The fifth inning also went clean for the two teams, while the sixth one brought Chicago four points as well as a well deserved leveler. Said Uggla after the game: “The streak is one thing. I’m more disappointed in the loss. It was a fun run but all things have got to come to an end sometime. I had fun with it. We had a nice, little roll as a team and we’re looking to get back on track tomorrow.”

Angeles struggled to stay in touch with the victory so Wilson put his side back into a two points lead after Bourjos doubled to left in the fifth.
But Toronto broke back in the sixth through McDonald who cut the deficit to one point after Thames grounded out to shortstop. Furthermore, Rasmus pushed the meeting into an extra-term after leveling the score in the ninth. Los Angels lost the game in the tenth round after Escobar scored the winner for his side, Jays’ second straight victory.

Florida Marlins 2 – 5 San Francisco Giants
San Francisco keep the two gameback gap against leaders Arizona as Giants eased pat Florida on Sunday at the Sun Life Stadium where the visitors managed to overcome a one point deficit. Stanton gave Marlins the first lead in the first term with a 422 foot homerun but that could aonly arouse Giants’ midway rally.
Ross fired a 380 foot homerun in the third inning, while Vogelsong doubled the advantage right afterwards. Schierholtz then hit a 422 foot homerun for a 3-1 lead, while Belt imitated him in the sixth and eighth rounds. Bonifacio scored the last consolation point for Florida in the same term, but it was too late as San Francisco celebrated their second straight win.
Giants are second in the West with a .545 record which includes 66 wins and 55 losses, the victory over Florida being their fourth in the past ten games and 31st on the road where they have just switched positive (31-30). On contrast, Florida lie foot of the table in the East with a .467 percentage which features 56 wins and 64 defeats, the loss to Giants being their ninth in the past ten games and 39th at home.
Baltimore Orioles 8 – 5 Detroit Tigers
Orioles stunned the Central leaders on Sunday after giving the Tigers no chance to take any lead throughout the entire meeting at the Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Detroit scored the last four points in the ninth term, but it was too late as Orioles powered through to a 29th home win. Markakis scored the first point of the game hitting a 388 foot homerun which was followed by Reimold’s second point.
Andino then singled to left as Davis made it even three with Tatum getting to second. Detroit’s first reply came in the third term through Santiago who hit a 388 foot homerun, but that was the best Tigers could do during the early terms. Markakis singled to left in the fifth term as Reimold extended the lead to three points for Orioles, while Guerrero singled to left for Markakis and Jones’ fifth and sixth point respectively.
The sixth term saw the same Baltimore score two more points through Tatum and Reimold who gave the hosts a comfortable lead they managed to keep until the end of the meeting. The next two innings went scoreless for both sides, while the ninth one showed Detroit go three points behind the Orioles. Avila walked as Rhymes cut the deficit to six points, while Peralta made it 3-8 right afterwards. Finally, Jackson singled to left for Raburn’s fourth point, being followed by Avila who scored the last point.
Despite the win, Baltimore lie foot of the table in the East with a .390 record which includes 46 wins and 72 defeats, the victory over Tigers being their third in the past ten games and 29th at home. On the other side, Detroit are top of the Central Conference, having gone .533 this season, record which features 64 wins and 56 losses, the defeat to Orioles being their fifth in the past ten games and 31st on the road where they have gone .500.
Cincinnati Reds 3 – 7 San Diego Padres
San Diego allowed Reds score just three points on Sunday at the Great American Ball Park where the visitors scored their first four points in a row and within the third term. LeBlanc brought he first advantage for Padres in the third term following a wild pitch from Willis. Maybin made it 2-0 after Blanks grounded out to third, while Hudson made it even three minutes later.
Darnell then singled to center, allowing Cunningham to put his side four points ahead of the sleeping Reds who would only score twice. Bruce fired a 425 foot homerun in the fourth inning being followed by Votto and Phillips who cut the deficit to one points, threatening Padres with a late comeback they eventually failed to set.
The next two terms went scoreless for both sides, while the seventh one saw Bartlett reestablish the two points lead. Furthermore, Cunningham made it 6-3 in the eighth, while Bartlett singled to center for Maybin’s seventh one in the ninth. Pittsburgh lie fourth with a .471 percentage featuring 56 wins and 63 defeats, the loss to Brewers being their third in a row, eighth in the past ten games and 31st on the road where they have just turned negative (30-31).
