Will There Be a World Caliphate?
Will There Ever Be Such a Flag?
Hizb ut-Tahrir, “The Party of Liberation,” the international pan-Islamic political organization that is militating for the instauration of a caliphate resulted of the union of the Islamic states around the world launched its Caliphate Conferences in the United Kingdom on July 9, and planned another in the Netherlands.
The conference aimed at offering those who participated in it answers to all the questions they are having related to the caliphate that is expected to be installed in the Muslim world as soon as the organization is strong enough to advocate it successfully.
The discussion about the caliphate of the Muslim believers comes at a time when the entire Muslim world is simmering, as one dictator falls after another.
Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Bahrain, Yemen, even Iran can become countries where such an ideology could flourish, not to mention Iraq or Afghanistan.
Caliphate is the recognized political state of the believers of Islam, and has been like this since the beginnings.
Will There Be a World Caliphate?
Islam Will Dominate the World
The Islamic world has had a political leader since the first days of the expansion to Africa and Asia.
An Arab-led Caliphate existed until the invasion of the Mongols, in the 13th century. The Mongols destroyed the then beautiful civilizations of Central Asia, and even Baghdad, the centre of the Caliphate at the time.
The sacred mission to unite all Muslims under the same political rule then befell the Turks, a non-Arab race converted to Islam.
Turks became the most important force of the Muslims throughout Middle Age and the modern times.
When the republic was installed in Turkey, the caliphate was lost. At least temporarily.
The word caliphah means in Arabic “successor,” and refers to the ones who succeeded the Prophet as the political leaders of the believers.
The understanding of the way Allah chooses his vice regent on Earth brought about the difference between Sunni Islam, the largest branch of the religion, considered the orthodox version of it, and adept to electing caliphs, and Shia Islam, the second largest branch, based upon the idea that only Allah has the prerogative to choose his supreme leader on Earth.

Both branches respect the same holy book, the Quran, and the same political principles written in it.
Prophet Muhammad’s scholars command that the caliphate should not have two leaders at the same time, and teach that it is forbidden to give the oath to more than one leader in the entire world.
The Caliphate is considered by the Muslims the pillar of their civilization.
Hizb ut-Tahrir wants to bring this tradition back to life, to unite all Muslims under one state, to make sure the Sharia is the law under which all of them live and that the faith of Allah and his Prophet is then carried further into the territories of the unbelievers.
The organization rejects all the Western values, and even democracy, considered by them an invention of the Americans and the Zionists, even though they hold their conferences in democratic countries.
The movement is supposed to have attempted to use the Egyptian revolution to install the caliphate there, given that as part of the Ottoman Empire Egypt has an experience and even a claim to become caliphate to all Muslims in the world.
Hizb ut-Tahrir is so radical in its pursuit of caliphate that it considers the last three presidents of the United States as “colonialists.”
The organization staged a conference on American soil in 2009, called “The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam.”
“The United States should be governed by Sharia, if they were to enter the Caliphate,” one of the organizers answered when asked the question whether the American Constitution should remain in place when the world was governed by Islam.
The Islam has a few divisions of the world according to the way the religion operates in different parts of planet.
Thus, the Western world in which the Islam is not yet the dominant religion is called Dar al-Amn, “The House of Safety,” or, in cases where the religion has only been recently spread, Dar al-Dawa, “The House of Invitation.”
There is a growing preoccupation in Europe about the fact that the Dar al-Dawa could soon turn into a house of war, as the communities grow bigger and more radical under the influence of ideologies like the one promoted by Hizb ut-Tahrir.
There are more and more eurosceptical people in Europe who believe that the rate at which the European population is decaying against the background of a very intense immigration process of the Muslim people suggests that Europe could become a House of Islam, or a house of peace in no more than half a century.
France is said to have almost 10 percent of the population confessing the religion of the Prophet, while Germany is having its own share of them, mostly from Turkey.
At the present moment, European continent has two states with a Muslim majority: Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the prospect of Turkey being admitted to the EU, which would add to the existing 56 million European Muslims another 70 million, which is more than a quarter of the entire population of Europe.
Looking at these numbers, one can only ask whether the Caliphate won’t be easier to install in time by democratic elections in Europe than to wait until all the tyrants in the Arab world are dead or ousted, and then the ones who want to topple them.
The main force of Islam in Europe is not Islam itself, but rather the spiritual drought of the Europeans who live in a rationalistic world that cannot satisfy the spiritual inborn need of the people.
In the depths of materialism and hedonism, the European and the American citizens want to cling on to something. Since the Western Protestant and Roman Catholic versions of Christianity no longer appeal to them, and the Far East religions are out of fashion, they cling to a simple and practical religion that promises obedience to God, and life according to his word, which is not so different, in form at least, from the message the Church conveyed in the old days.

Still, the division among the Arab countries, both political and religious, manifested so many times when unity was required in the face of Western actions, guarantees that the Caliphate will not become a reality any time soon, especially since the number of believers who want to live under the strict Sharia grows thinner every day, as many Muslims prefer to turn to justice to the Western-like courts, rather than have their arms cut or hang in trees, or wear traditional clothes.
