Jal cyclone to hit coastal regions of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh

The weather department has warned of the cyclone called Jal that is likely to hit the northern region of Tamil Nadu and southern region of Andhra Pradesh coasts, India by Sunday evening.
Cyclone Jal is currently in one of the neighbouring countries of India, Sri Lanka. The cyclone has hit the eastern and northern coasts of Lanka.
The department informs that there is a huge possibility of heavy rainfall in the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry (Puducherry) and Andhra Pradesh anytime, within 24 hours.
Gusty winds of about 65-75 kph would be initiating the cyclone that might reach up to 120-140 kph when the landfall is made.
The weather department has anticipated minor damages in communication lines as well as power lines which will create a hindrance for a while. Fishing activities are completely stopped in the danger warned areas.
Rainfall has already touched the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. The rainfall was measured 14cm. The weather department will keep on updating as the changes keep on taking place.
