The authorities of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have finally bowed down to the demands of their doctors. After enough controversy and argument, the resident doctor Dr. Shejoy P Joshua has been asked to join back.
Joshua was alleged and then relieved of sexually abusing a child under his treatment. After which more than 100 resident doctor had protested since Monday to get their colleague reinstated.
Dr. Shejoy a neuro surgeon was charged of sexually abusing a seven year old boy, who was taking treatment under him. But later after police investigations, it was found that the doctor wasn’t a culprit.
The institute had issued the order on 14th July in the evening. The decision of the reinstatement was taken after a meeting was held with the union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. The president of the resident doctors, Dr. Debjyoti Karmakar had said that they are very happy and hereby call off the hunger strike as they have won. Joshua after the decision had expressed that he was very happy and emotional too. Dr. Shejoy said that he had been fighting for the last six months to prove himself innocent.
