Ronaldo made an impressive La Liga debut after completing a hat-trick in Real Madrid’s 6-0 win over Real Zaragoza last night at the Estadio La Romareda.
Real scored four goals only in the second part with Alonso and Kaka also getting their names on the scoreboard. Ronaldo opened the score 25 minutes into the first term, while Marcelo doubled the lead just a couple of minutes later. Madrid are now top in the Spanish standings with Barca making their debut tonight against Villarreal.
It took the visitors ten minutes to create their first dangerous action at Roberto’s goal. Ozil was picked on the edge of the box only to strike it straight to the keeper. Di Maria got his first big chance four minutes later, but nor the Argentine could beat Roberto from range. Benzema then tried his luck with the left foot only to be denied by the same Zaragoza keeper.
The hosts were the first to concede a yellow card. Meira took down Ronaldo in the 21st minute to receive the first caution. The Portuguese took the responsibility for the set piece, striking it straight at the keeper. Two minutes later he did score following a superb action developed by Benzema and Ozil who fed the star inside the box for a tremendous left footer last Roberto.
Frustration then made Abraham lose concentration and receive a yellow for a tough challenge on Di Maria. Marcelo made it 2-0 in the 28th minute. A cross from the right was intercepted by the Brazilian defender who smashed it into the left hand post from ten yards or so. Ronaldo was very close to completing his double in the 33rd minute when the Portuguese was the only one able to collect the ball from a crowded box only to be denied by the keeper.
Ronaldo missed another great opportunity to complete his double in the 40th minute when the Portuguese was found unmarked inside the box, being denied by Roberto who tipped the shot away and into the corner in what should have been a third goal for Jose Mourinho’s side. The half time went 2-0 to Real, but things would get much worse for Zaragoza in the second part.
Just three minutes after eh second kick off, Ronaldo hit a ball well wide, sign of a double chase. The next huge chance belonged to the same top-scorer who fired it just wide after a long distance action which saw three Zaragoza player’s clearly beaten.

Hosts’ first clear opportunity came late in the 60th minute through Da Silva who volleyed it just wide following a corner from the left.
