Retina Display was launched last year with the announcement of iPhone 4 by Apple. Retina Display’s 326 pixels per inch resolution makes the display very smooth and sharp. iPad 2 failed to get a Retina Display resolution but it appears that the upcoming iPad 3 might have one.
Brought in light by TechUnwrapped, the iOS 5 Software Development Kit has some evidences that iPad 3 might get Retina Display. They found images in the iOS and Twitter integration framework that were double the current iPad 2 resolution of 1,024×768. The images found are 2,048×1,536, probably the Retina Display resolution for iPad 3.
After digging further into the SDK, TechUnwrapped found high-resolution images of the new Newsstand app by Apple. This makes the rumor solid that the upcoming iPad 3 might get high-resolution Retina Display. The images found in Twitter and Newsstand app has raised enough rumor level.
While some analysts think the iPad 3 will surely get the Retina Display, many still don’t believe any such addition into the future iPad. Several high-resolution images were found at the time of iPad 2 too but it failed the rumors with no Retina Display in it.
