Top of the World Knights in Rio de Janeiro

Last weekend, Rio de Janeiro became the seat of the largest equestrian event in Latin America. From Friday to Sunday, 2 to 4 of September, Rio de Janeiro was the place that brought together all those attending the Athina Onassis Horse Show to see the best knights in the world in action.
In its fifth edition, the Athina Onassis Horse Show 2011 took place in the Brazilian Equestrian Society. This event was also the ninth and penultimate stage of the Global Champions Tour (GCT).
Considered the world’s horse racing Formula 1, the GCT began in March in the Middle East. From there it continued its way through Europe stopping at Valencia (Spain), Hamburg (Germany), Cannes (France), Monte Carlo (Monaco), Estoril (Portugal), Chantilly (France), Valkenswaard (Netherlands). The next stop was Rio de Janeiro. From here, the 25 best teams from around the world will travel to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, where the tournament will come to an end.
The seats in the bleachers were priced at R $ 120.00 (€ 52.30) per person per day attended the event. The boxes, meanwhile, were priced at R $ 350.00 (€ 153) per person per day. More than 15,000 people attended, in total, during the three days the event lasts.
Athina Onassis Horse Show in Rio de Janeiro brought horses from Europe to participate in the competition in Brazil. The event featured the best knights and amazons of the world. The riders competed for a total of € 1,300,000.00 in prizes.
As in previous years, the event brought together in one place the horses competitions with a first class cuisine, good music and fashion. The show took place both during competitions, as before and after competitions start and finish.
