Maroon 5 will perform in Rock in Rio Day on October 1st.
After the American rapper Jay-Z cancelled his show in the Rock in Rio festival this past Wednesday, the event organizers confirmed on Thursday the participation of the group Maroon 5 in place of the artist.Winner of three Grammy Awards, Maroon 5 was one of the most requested bands in the pages of Rock in Rio in all different social networks. This pop and rock band became famous with songs like “This Love” and “She Will be Loved” from their 2002 album “Songs About Jane”, which sold 15 million copies. This album was followed the success of “It Will not Be Soon Before Long” (2007) and “Hands All Over” (2010).
On August 9, Maroon 5 released their clip “Moves Like Jagger,” which includes the participation of singer Christina Aguilera and pays tribute to the unmistakable style of dancing of Mike Jagger, the lead singer of the Rolling Stones.
The last performance of the band in Brazil took place in 2008. Now in Rock in Rio, Maroon 5 will perform on Saturday, October 1 with Skank, Maná, Frejat and Coldplay in the Palco Mundo.
Due to the cancellation of Jay-Z, festival organizers said they would explain the procedures for reimbursement of tickets of those who no longer wish to attend already this past Tuesday, August 30.
