Actor Mel Gibson recently decided to open up about his issues and the incidents involving his former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.
The star had to face a lot of issues in the past months and in fact he was very much criticized for his angry rants on his girlfriend. The fact that Mel Gibson was charged with domestic violence is already very well known, although the actor managed to avoid jail after all. Anyway, now the star decided to talk about the tapes that affected his public image, but also his career.
Well, during his most recent interview, Mel Gibson claimed to be sorry for the comments he made and for the infamous tape recordings of him attacking the Russian born singer. The actor said to regret the whole incident, but added that in fact they have been “edited” and that his former girlfriend betrayed him. “Who anticipates being recorded? Who anticipates that? Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal?” Gibson said being quoted by the Daily Mail. The tapes of course include the racist comments that Mel made, but the star can also be heard threatening to kill Oksana. The woman, on the other hand claimed that she wasn’t the one who made the tapes public, although they have been leaked.
Well, now the actor said that he was only “trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship” and things should be seen the way they are and not taken out of the context. Still, the way he acted then is not the way he really is as a person and people should not see him under such an image, the star claimed. But, Mel also said that people did not actually “expressed any anger” towards him after the tapes have been made public, but “they may have felt it.” Still, he mentioned that he never discriminated anyone.
The case involving domestic violence charges against Mel Gibson, linked to an incident that took place last year, was settled after Mel pleaded no contest. The star and his former girlfriend have an 18 months old daughter Lucia. The former couple are currently involved in a custody battle for their young daughter, and in fact Mel Gibson said that the main reason why he decided to plead no contest to the charges was linked to the fact that he just wanted to avoid a big scandal linked to a trial, all for the sake of his child. So, although he could have tried to fight and continue with it for years, Mel decided that it would be for the best to end the case now and avoid a media circus, all with the purpose to avoid the scandal and protect his entire family. Still, because the custody battle is still on, the actor could not reveal too much when it comes to this case, as he is not allowed to discus legal matters.
