Jewel gave birth
Monday evening, the Grammy-nominated singer, Jewel and her husband Ty Murray welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The baby boy’s name is Kase Townes Murray and weighs 7 lbs., 6 oz. The couple’s child was born at seven p.m. CST in Texas. Both parents were very excited to welcome their first child and Jewel said to People magazine that they “are overcome with happiness” and “it really is as great as everyone” already told them it will be. In fact, the singer considers that it’s even better than she expected.
Jewel said “yes” to Ty Murray in Bahamas in 2008. Ty Murray is a professional bull rider and was as happy as his wife to announce in January 2011 that they were expecting a little boy. Jewel also revealed to People magazine the problems that she had conceiving. She said that she used to be “a workaholic” and she had “to learn how to slow down and take care” of herself. The folk singer passed through difficult times when she was hit by a fire truck, this year in March, when she was five months pregnant. Fortunately, the singer and her unborn baby, after being the subject of some medical test, were released from the hospital the next day, because both were as healthy as they should have been.
Jewel is a singer-songwriter and became successful in the mid-1990s with songs like “Who Will Save Your Soul” and “You Were Meant For Me”. She also released in 2008 her first country record called “Perfectly Clear”. The singer also worked on a children’s album called “The Merry Goes ‘Round” which will be released in August.
It’s now all about happy times for the two newly parents. They have already prepared the child’s nursery at their 2,200 acre ranch in Stephenville, Texas and are ready to enjoy every day by their son’s side.
