After a series of poor shows at the box-office Vijay is expecting his much needed break in Kollywood through Kavalan. Kavalan has become a comeback movie for Asin in Tamil as she was busy with her Bollywood commitments.
Asin’s trip to Sri Lanka has earned her a bad name among some political activists and even among her fans. Asin is keen to get back her loosing popularity highly relying on Kavalan to do it.

Kavalan movie happens to be the 51st movie of Ilayathalapathy Vijay. Vijay has tasted success in many of Telugu remake movies and his trying his luck with Malayalam films too. Kavalan movie is the remake of Malayalam super-hit ‘Bodyguard’. The original characters were played by Malayalam star Dilip Kumar and Nayanthara. Reports suggest that Asin was first approached for the lead role in Kavalan, but refused the offer due to her busy Bollywood schedule. However the actress has grabbed the offer in Tamil.

Kavalan Movie hasn’t followed the present trend of roping in many stars in the casting. The lead roles are played by Vijay and Asin. Vijay and Asin share a good success records as their previous projects ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokkiri’ have been blockbuster hits. Other important roles are played by Mithra Kurian, Raj Kiran and yesteryear actress Roja who is playing the wife of Raj Kiran. Director Siddique has made a script and screenplay and change in Tamil remake in order to suit the Tamil audience and Vijay fans. However the key storyline remains the same. Actor Vijay has been portrayed as a youngster who admires any person who carries a bit of heroism within him. Incidentally Vijay gets impressed by reformed liquor supplier who leads a life of a business man at present. Vijay seeks a job at him and gets assigned as the bodyguard for the Dada’s daughter. The bodyguard and the daughter (Asin) discover special feelings among themselves and carry on with it. Later they decide to part ways due to the unavoidable challenges which they would face if they tie the knot. Whats comes next completes the story. The first half of Kavalan is expected to be a comedy entertainer and the second half would be a action packed thriller.
Kavalan Movie technical crew:
Director Siddique, the creator of Bodyguard in Malayalam has did the same for Tamil version too. Siddique has planned some extra masalas for Kavalan in order to fit Kavalan into Kollywood’s shoes. Melody King Vidyasagar has made his comeback through Kavalan. Music director Vidyasagar has scored six sizzling numbers for Kavalan. N.K Ekambaram has handled the camera while the editing part has been taken care of Gowri Shankar. According to the sources the film has been made at a cost of 35 cross and odd. If sources are to be believed Kavalan will be released on early December.

Kavalan took a lot of tumbles before finalizing the present title. ‘Kavalan’ was first titled after MGR super-hit movie ‘Kaval Karan’, which faced a objection from the film producers Satya Movies. Later on the film crew changed the title to Kaval Kadhal which one again was changed to Kavalan as per Vijay’s fans requests. Kavalan has been considered as a comeback movie not only for Asin, but also for Ilayathalapathy.
