Modric likely to sign Chelsea

Apart from this, Andre Villas Boas, who couldn’t acquire two of his best FC Porto players, Hulk and Falcao, has now switched his focus on Valencia’s midfielder Juan Mata who is nearing a move to London. The Blues have reportedly offered the Spaniards a 23,5 million pound amount, but the player is still in Spain.
Boas would be happy to have the 23 year old at Stamford Bridge, his performance having propelled the Spaniard in Chelsea’s radar. Mata is winner of both the FIFA World Cup and the U-21 European championship. Mata has scored 33 goals and gathered 129 selections with Valencia. He started his career at Real Madrid B and was also named the Top Assisting Player at the U-21 European tournament.
The Blues have won four points in two games under Villas Boas after drawing Stoke City and beating West Bromwich Albion in the second day. Chelsea will meet newly promoted Norwich City next Saturday.
