The reshuffling of the Cabinet has finally been done by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. After the reshuffle, Dinesh Trivedi and Jairam Ramesh have been included in the core team of the Prime Minister.
Trivedi has been handed over the responsibility of the Railways, while Jairam is the new rural development minister. The Cabinet also includes Kishore Chandra Deo with the tribal affairs ministry and BP Verma with the responsibility of the steel ministry.
No changes have been reported in the major ministries like that of external affairs, defense, home and finance. In place of Veerappa Moily, Salman Khurshid has been made the new law minister, while Moily has been shifted to the corporate affairs.
Mukul Roy has been retained for the shipping ministry, but has been taken out of the railways portfolio. The Cabinet also includes new faces like Gurudas Kamat and Srikant Jena. Meanwhile, Murli Deora and Dayanidhi Maran have forwarded their resignations to the President for acceptance.
