the E-cloth smartphone and MP3 pouch is for you

e-cloth review
It has been quite a while coming this review we’ll admit and it certainly isn’t the hi-tech product most of you would expect from Technology Blogged for sure, however it does have purpose, so for anybody who simply hates their smartphone display looking like it’s been through ten rounds with a greasy finger, read on, and see if the E-cloth smartphone and MP3 pouch is for you.

A background

There are few materials scattered around your home which are ideal for cleaning your smartphone’s glass display. Kitchen roll, for example, leaves epic amounts of tissue dust scattered around and likewise a kitchen cloth isn’t suited either as it leaves scopic dust on your device. So what you really need then is something which doesn’t do this, and that is where the E-cloth pouch comes in.
Featuring microfiber technology, the e-cloth is said to effectively cleanse any device that it touches leaving all glass displays smudge and finger print free. On the E-cloth website, the makers state that; “Our pouch cleans and protects all types of mobile phone and MP3 player with our e-cloth fibre technology. The pouch is 9 x 15 cm in size and has a press lock toggle to secure your electronic item inside. The Phone & MP3 Pouch is for everyday storage and great on touchscreens, metal, glass and plastic surfaces”.

Design, Using it

e-cloth review
This product, as you might have already seen, doesn’t really need much of a design because it’s sole purpose is function, however it does look okay. On the design front, the pouch adopts a water droplet design which looks quite nice, and also reminds you subconsciously that you should add water to it to get the best results (we’ll move on to this). The pouch feels well made and it features a logo to the side of it, pictured above, and also a press lock toggle so your smartphone doesn’t slip out.
Moving on to the pouches main selling point (cleaning devices) and the pouch works perfectly well indeed, cleaning the iPhone 4 particularly well with thanks to both sides of it being glass. All that is required from the end user is to wet the pouch a little so that the microfibers stick to your device, insert your device, and rub. The end results from all my tests were that an iPhone 4, HTC Sensation and Motorola Droid came out pristine.

Overall

It’s hard to rate a product like this as it has no die hard specifications, no gorilla glass and when it comes to operating speed this is N/A, however I can happily recommend it for cleaning your device or to keep handy in your car for when times get greasy. Overall I enjoyed using the pouch and at the price of £4.99, and to quote Dr. Pepper, what’s the worst that could happen?
The only downside to this product is the design on it, because i’m fairly confident that for some people they’d like a choice as to what their pouch would look like, especially a pink one as i’m sure that would sell really well. If you’re interested then you can find out more about E-cloth here.
