Egyptian Vice President Survived Assasination Attempt
Omar Suleiman (haaretz.com)
Fox News reports on Saturday that newly appointed Vice President of Egypt, Omar Suleiman, former head of security services, has survived an assassination attempt, as his convoy was attacked by people with guns while traveling and two of the bodyguards were killed.
United States confirms that report on the failed assassination attempt, though White House Secretary Robert Gibbs did not want to go into details about it.
Suleiman is the first vice president to be appointed in Egypt and is supposed to be the one the embattled presidents would delegate powers to in an attempt to make the transition toward the future elections (unconfirmed reports say he already has).
He was appointed last week and attempted to bring all forces demonstrating in Egypt against the president to the negotiation table, an attempt that became immaterial in the aftermath of the bloody reprisals on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, in Cairo protests continue in Egypt with tens of thousands protesting against the president and demanding his immediate ouster.

On Thursday, the PM apologized for the barbarian attacks on Wednesday, when some “supporters” of the president stormed the Tahrir Square, causing thousands people to be wounded and tens to be killed.
On Friday, the people gathered in a more peaceful rally in Cairo in what was deemed as the “Day of Departure,” the day when president was given an ultimatum to leave power peacefully.
On Saturday morning, an explosion at the terminal of the northern Sinai Peninsula determined Egypt to cut off the supply of Israel with natural gases until the problems are solved.
