Guzaarish opened to a low response at the box office in this morning at 30-40%. It was expected and the real test for the movie starts tonight when the turnaround will have to come if the film is to make any impact at the box office. The overall rating is good, but it is still unclear whether this translates into good box office collections. The English version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 opened for a very good response of 60-70% at multiplexes across the country.
Cinematix, the weekly tracking to measure the awareness and interest in seeing future releases, is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish set to have a lukewarm opening at the box office. In the week before launch, the film scored lowers than Hrithik Roshan’s last film Kites on unaided awareness (42% vs. 55%) and interest (58% vs. 71%). As per the forecast model will have a net Guzaarish opening weekend collection of Rs. 170 to 180 million assuming that the theatrical release over 850 cinemas.
Movies currently Cinematix trail includes Break Ke Baad, gave Charitra 2, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan sey, Band Baaja Baaraat, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Run Bhola Run, Dhobi Ghat, Toonpur Ka Super Hero Tees Maar Khan, No Problem, etc. Developed and driven by media research and consulting firm Ormax Media, the weekly Cinematix path out of key theatrical income markets – Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Indore. Guzarish rocked Bollywood with the opening success. Ticket office collection report is yet to arrive. But according to the information we were able to collect Rs. 4.5 crores on opening day.
