Doodle 4 Google India winner Akshay Raj From St Aloysius High School

Today you can see his Doodle at home page of Google India for the Children’s Day.
Akshay Raj a 14 year old student studying IXth class in St Aloysius High School, Mangalore.
His doodle ‘Technically and Naturally Growing India’ was chosen from over 1,08,000 sketches submitted by students from across the country and was selected on the basis of artistic merit, creativity, and expression of the theme.
He was awarded yesterday in Mumbai. Akshay Raj has given its credit to his parents and his painting teacher.Akshay
Google India has given him a technology starter package and $4500 (Rs. 2 Lakh) to the school.
Google organizes Doodle 4 Google competition around the world to share a platform to express the children their artistic creativity.

The Doodle4Google competition was open to all students from 1st-10th standard. This year participants were challenged to imagine their own version of the Google logo based on the theme "My Dream for India”. From ‘A cleaner, greener India’ to ‘Freedom from poverty’ to ‘Education for all’ to ‘The world’s center of technology’ to ‘Better roads’ the doodles showcased the imagination of young Indian children and gave them an opportunity to display their talent on a national platform.
Submitted doodles were shortlisted by partner art schools from across the country, after which 9051 doodles entered the quarter final round. Faculty from the Sir JJ School of Arts then shortlisted the 600 doodles that made it to the semi final round. An esteemed panel of judges that included renowned sculpture artist, Arzan Kambhatta, multi disciplinary artist Bose Krishnamachari and the popular host of the multi-award winning arts show Rob then picked our finalists.
Apart from this national winner, three group winners were also chosen through an online poll in which Google users participated.
Khushi Mahender, of Ryan International, New Delhi, won the Group I prize;
Tahera Sohail of Young Horizon School, Kolkata, topped Group II;
And, Chennai’s V. Vinoth Kumar of SBOA Matriculation School got the award in Group III.
Special Judges’ Awards were given to Anwesh Saha from Kolkata, Nishi Bordia from Indore and Sanjali Desai from Mumbai in Groups I, II and III respectively.
