Nasri Completes City Deal
Nasri given four year deal at City
Samir Nasri has officially become Manchester City’s player after penning a four year deal with the Eastlands side. The former Arsenal cornerstone cost Robert Mancini’s side 24 million pounds and is now eligible to make his debut, most likely in Sunday’s game at Tottenham Hotsopur.
The 24 year old Frenchman split with Arsenal after three titleless years, something which made him consider a move away from the Emirates. Nasri has thus become the third big name to leave Arsenal after Cesc Fabregas and Gael Clichy. He is also likely to play alongside him former team mate Clichy who also signed City this summer.
“The French international joins the Club from Arsenal on a four-year deal and will meet his new team-mates on Thursday. He will wear the number 19 shirt,” City statement read. “The 24-year-old, adept in both wide and central roles, arrives in time to merit consideration for Sunday’s game at White Hart Lane against Tottenham, his former club Arsenal’s fierce rivals.”
Nasri scored 18 goals and gathered 86 selections with Arsenal with which he didn’t win any important trophy. City are following a great season, instead which brought them the FA Cup as well as a podium place which has propelled them into the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The player is to pick a place in the middle most likely alongside David Silva, Milner and Toure Yaya. City also brought Sergio Aguero in what represented one of the most expensive moves for the Blues. Mancini might lose Emmanuel Adebayor and Carlos Tevez. The Togolese is nearing a move at Tottenham Hotspur, while the Argentine, who failed to sign Corinthians, is likely to part with the Blues for an ex English side.
Manchester City are top of the standings in Premier League with six points won in two games. Mancini’s side beat both newly promoted Swasne City 4-0 in the first day and Bolton Wanderers 3-2 last weekend, having United right behind them with the same number of points.
They will next meet Tottenham who lie bottom of the table with zero points due to a 0-3 defeat to Manchester United. Newly arrived Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and David Silva have all scored twice this new season as the future seems promising at the Eastlands.
