The World’s First Dinosaur Phone

iPhone 4 History Edition
For average users, there are average phones. For users with a lot of requirements and a lot of money to spend, some companies have come up with luxury mobile phones. There’s little to nothing that sets luxury phones apart from other phones from a hardware or performance standpoint. In fact, I could even go ahead and say that some luxury phones are inferior as features. But what luxury phones excel in is, obviously, the quality of materials used. Mobile phones can be used as a statement for one’s success. We do tend to pull them out of our pockets pretty often and everyone gets to see them while we hold them up to our ear to hold a conversation.
Having said that, we all know that smartphones are becoming more popular and slowly but surely replacing average cell phones. As a consequence we’ll get to see a lot of smarter luxury phones and we’ve already seen a whole set of iPhones covered in gold, diamonds and any other material that’s outrageously expensive and good looking. If, for instance, you take a quick look at Goldstriker you’ll discover that there are iPhone 4 handsets covered in gold or platinum or iPhone 4 handsets with Swarovski crystals. But the one phone that clearly beats anything else on the market (at least in terms of price) is a special edition of the iPhone 4 made by a British Jeweler called Stuart Hughes. If you’re interested you can find out more about it here. The problem is that the iPhone became quite popular ever since its release and a large number of people now own one. If you’re extremely satisfied with the features the device has to offer but you’d still like to be a bit different from all the other iPhone users out there and you think you can afford it, Stuard Hughes actually gives you the chance to buy completely different looking and stylish versions of the handset.

To prove that he can do even better than that, Hughes has recently revealed the iPhone 4 History Edition. The phone is presented as the “world’s first Dinosaur mobile phone” and it was Katherine Hughes, the jeweler’s wife, who came up with the idea to create it. So what makes this handset so special? According to Fox News, the back of the handset was custom fitted with a T-Rex tooth and splintered and shaved into polished meteoric stone, 65 million years old.  Guess Mr. Hughes eventually got bored of playing with gold, diamonds and crystals and took it to the next level.  Around the bezel you’ll also get to find 8.6ct flawless diamonds. The Apple logo on the back is made out of platinum.
We’re not sure at this point what variety of iPhone was used to create this little work of art that we now know as the iPhone 4 History edition but it’s pretty safe to assume that it’s the 32GB flavor, like most other Hughes creations. Naturally, the phone is a limited edition one and only 10 units will be manufactured. If you’re a fan of all things nice, different and expensive, you might want to hurry to get into the possession of one but it will definitely cost you. The iPhone 4 History Edition has a price tag of roughly $63,000 which to be honest doesn’t sound that expensive compared to Hughe’s previous creation which sold for $8 million.
